You never know when or where these rides will pop up! This ride is for moderate level riders who want to attack some hills and burn some calories! Like my North Park ride, we'll be doing a lot of cranking! But not as much repeating segments. All riders should come expecting to WAIT AT TURNS and at TOP OF HILLS.
Our route today takes us through the majestic hills and valleys of the Sewickley Highlands - somewhat. We start at Knob Hill Park. The first 16 miles or so is mostly DOWNHILL. We'll take Spang, then make our way past Recreation Park to Big Sewickley through Leetsdale to Walker Park. Our big climb of the day will be up Camp Meeting. More hills (some count 6) await us on Markman Park. From there is an easy 1 mile ride back to Knob Hill Park. As always, we'll be enjoying an optional lunch at a local eatery. Check out the route! Start Time: 8:30AM Distance: 27.6 miles Elevation: 1,705 ft. Max Grade: 11.5% Restrooms: At Start/Finish and Walker Park Bring enough water as there are no places to fill your water on the route. I'm not sure if the water bottle fill station in Knob Hill Park is operable. Click here for route: KH-WP Start: Knob Hill Park parking lot next to Neil McFadden Field below Elias Frye Barn.
